SCAA welcomes volunteers of all ages, both local and expatriate! Our main requirement is a true love for animals (or willingness to learn more about them)!
Please note that children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or teacher (not a SCAA volunteer). SCAA only works with projects where all animals have been vaccinated against rabies; however, all SCAA volunteers should note that SCAA will not be held responsible for their personal safety at any time. To this end, teachers visiting SCAA projects must sign a waiver, as must all volunteers, foster parents or adoptive parents.
SCAA volunteers will always be accompanied to the project site by a Group Leader. The Group Leader will make all final decisions about transportation, animal care, volunteer behavior, communication with project staff, etc. She/he will forward any questions, comments or suggestions about SCAA projects to the SCAA founder. In case of an emergency the Group Leader may postpone, cancel or cut short the project.
SCAA volunteers are not allowed, under any circumstance, to bring animals to or take animals from SCAA supported projects or Adoption Days without permission from SCAA Founder Carol Wolfson or an SCAA director (we in turn, must get permission from the local project managers before any animals are brought into or taken from the project sites).
SCAA only works with projects where all animals have been vaccinated against rabies; however, all SCAA volunteers, foster parents or adoptive parents should note that SCAA will not be held responsible for their personal safety at any time.
